# Troubleshooting

> Fix common problems with alerts, settings, and contests.

Work down this list. Most issues are permissions, the wrong pool, or a reply sent in the group instead of a private chat.

## The bot does not answer in the group

* Make sure BuyBot is **in the group**
* Make it a **group admin**
* Try `/help` in the group

## I cannot add a token

| Message                                | What to do                                                      |
| -------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Group admins only                      | Ask an admin, or make sure you are an admin (not just a member) |
| That doesn't look like a token address | Paste the **token** address, not a wallet or a tweet            |
| Unknown chain                          | Use `solana`, `ethereum`, `base`, `bsc`, or `robinhood`         |
| Couldn't look that token up            | Wait a minute and try `/add` again                              |
| No pool found                          | The token may be too new, or not listed yet. Try again later    |
| four.meme bonding curve                | Wait until it graduates, then `/add` and pick the Pancake pool  |

## Buy cards are missing

1. Confirm `/list` shows your token in this group.
2. Confirm people are buying in the **same pool** you picked.
3. Lower **Min buy \$** in `/settings` if it is higher than typical buys.
4. If the main pool changed, run `/add` again and pick the new pool.

<Tip>
  A transfer that is not a dex buy will not make a card. Same for sells.
</Tip>

## Settings will not save

* Send the value in a **private chat** with the bot after it asks
* Tap **Start** in that private chat first
* Send `/cancel` and try `/settings` again
* Links must start with `http://` or `https://` (except `@handle` for X)

## Custom emoji or logo failed

* Try a smaller, square logo photo
* Or send a normal emoji / a Telegram custom emoji instead
* Send `clear` to go back to the token logo

## Pins do not work

* Give the bot permission to **pin messages**
* Set **Pin min \$** above 0
* The buy must be at least that dollar size

## Competition will not start

* Add a token with `/add` first
* Send the **full prize** (plus a little for fees) to the prize wallet
* Send from a wallet you control, on the **same chain**
* Wait a short time after the transfer — start is automatic when the prize arrives

## I sent prize to the wrong place

Contact [@crmoonboy](https://t.me/crmoonboy) immediately with the group name. Do not send a second prize to a new contest unless support says so.

## Pay the winners expired

After 72 hours, only the BuyBot team can finish that contest. Message [@crmoonboy](https://t.me/crmoonboy) with a full description. Do not tap random buttons in old messages.

* A screenshot of the bot’s last reply (hide any extra private info)
